we are all very excited about presenting the new catalogue for apparel music limited. we decided to offer our fans an alternative point of view to complete our distribution package. kisk, this time with the help of gennaro mastrantonio, is developing a new concept designed for a bigger dance hall. whereas apparel music covers the daytime, warm-up and after-party side, apparel music limited represents the night in all its different shades. we have chosen francesco gemelli to set our experimental work in motion. francescos classic vocal house music takes us back in time, as if disco music never died and the 90s still had something to say.. the aggressive, uncompromising rhythm of spin my mind melts into the love sounds of she loves the 80s, as if travelling back in time were not enough, as if modern times were in the past and the past was hic et nunc, here and now. ughl revamps the visuals in a deep house version of she loves the 80s, turning it into a very up-to-date track, while gennaro gives spin my mind just the right trajectory for limited edition.

morning caffeine is the debut release by poker flats martin landsky on mobilee that we have all been waiting for! as a poker flat artist with huge success to his name for various remixes, he boasts a discography that reads like a guide through electronic musics hottest sounds. always refusing to be pigeonhold, landsky continuously embraces different paths and once again hes brought something new to the table. title track morning caffeine (main mix) kick starts the ep with both a dark and uplifting mood as a slightly twisted loop continues to build throughout the track, never really culminating but carrying on inescapably, whilst in contrast the organ dub version offers a much lighter and bouncier atmosphere. aint nobodys is the pleasant surprise of the ep, once again demonstrating landkys musical diversity and serving up really special warm dreamy vibes

fantastic remastered reissue of the original solar sound 12 inch release of nightlife, a stone-cold rare groove classic from blackbyrds guitarist barney blair perry. an absolute gem of a record that has become one of the holy grails of the scene going for mega bucks on the rare occasions copies surface on ebay, discogs etc. recorded back in 1978, nightlife is simply stunning - with phat bass and a wonderfully soulful groove that never fails to ignite the dancefloor and superb guitar work from the masterful mr perry. if that wasnt enough, the flipside features the equally beautiful deep fusion sounds of >virgo princess<. quality music and an essential purchase

seiji – the much-lauded and respected producer from west london – returns with the penultimate part of his 2010-launched seiji series. having successfully explored a career path thats established him as a founding member of broken beat originators bugz in the attic, a key artist for the seminal jungle/d n b label reinforced, a downbeat solo artist for sonar kollectiv and a producer and co-writer for the brilliant roisin murphy, in 2011 seiji is a man focused squarely on the dancefloor. the seiji series is just one part of that with seiji stripping things right back, identifying each release with a simple number and putting all his energy into creating music that he truly believes in. a merging of sounds and influences that have always been with him, but have never sounded so right – encapsulating everything thats exciting about the underground uk scene at the moment. as with the previous two releases, seiji 4 is a double a-side focusing on the current uk house sound, a bit soulful, a bit funky a bit jacking, with two solid heavy grooves that are going to work on any house dance floor. no other has a really soulful vocal sample, a rolling reese bass riff and percussive uk house beats. easy is more of an infectious skippy house groove with a chunky bass hook and deep techno pads

jon dasilva is one of the original hacienda (the manchester club) djs and was behind the decks when house exploded in the uk during the summer of love in 1988 as well as being a tour dj for new order and the haciendas usa tour in 1990. since then he has been credited for mentoring djs such as sasha and been an inspiration to laurent garnier a.o. he has also got a string of releases under his belt for labels such as soma, deconstruction, robs records and better days. check! on his debut release he teams up with vocalist donald waugh and the return to the roots of house music with >love is all we need<. together they have created a house classic that never was, reminiscent of an essential dj international release or alike. comes as full vocal and dubbed out bootleg mix. on the flip we find brailles on remix duties. fresh from his massive >the year 3000< on our direct current series, braille pushes >love is all we need< into the next century. classic feel good stuff. this is how we like our vocal house!

the -makeovers- project is a compilation of some of claudes best re-twists, some of which are so far removed they can almost be considered original works. this special edition vinyl includes one of the most sought after remixes, -warpaint- originally by pocket 808 in australia, vonstroke turned this into a late night anthem in 2007. played by techno djs, dubstep djs, and everyone in between this track was never cut to vinyl until now. on the flip side claude remixed the nublu orchestra out of new york. he was never completely happy with the original version of the remix and hes gone back and re-made it into a very special piece of music including a new vocal sample from his wife aundy who also did the vocal effects in whos afraid of detroit? this collection was put together with the theme that a remix can be an inspiring starting point for an entirely new piece of music. these are two of the deeper and darker remixes but we think you agree they are also very special.

fantastic and incredibly rare afro-disco album from 1978. originally released on the seminal french disco label barclay, this album seamlessly blends elements of african, afrobeat, funk and disco styles, with segments continually morphing and evolving into new tracks. irresistibly funky and percussive, this album’s drumming patterns and melodies grandually hypnotise the listener, with only outbreaks of african chanting breaking up the grooves. the b-side is effectively one long drum track broken down into 7 segments that never drop a beat. this album really takes the listener on a journey to africa, via 1978 new york, and is a real one of a kind. it’s also a samplers dream with no end of complex drum patterns and basslines to recycle.

backchat titled ep is filled with three tracks, all spiked with steady beats, funk, deep melodic chords and an overall glamour house feel. this is not only very well produced electronic music, its also a journey through deepness and a modern take on the soulful side of the electronic music which exceeds the genre by far with a rich, colourful palette of surprising, individual sounds, butter-smooth chords, some of the most raunchiest bassline that you ll ever hear outside of drum n bass, cleverly constructed beat patterns that yet never fail to jack and swing and an understanding of dub that goes far beyond the random use of echo and effects. on vinyl – as we like our little record-shop around the corner.

for all the wonderfully subtle shell-breaking he did on his full-length, mark e falls back on old, slow habits for his new single, >the day<. and welcomely, we might add. pitching things down to a basement lounge floor crawl, the midlands dj/producer wraps his always chugging kicks and snares in serpentine synth-bass, jazzy, tripleted hi-hats, and moaning, wordless soul vocals. its grasp is tantric—hinting coyly at ecstatic release, but never fully delivering. for the vinyl junkies that bought stone breaker and missed out on it the first time around (it was absent from that version), this release should be a no brainer. but >the day< isnt carrying all the weight here. a new track called >special fx< will have sample hounds—particularly those with a thing for classic electro-pop—salivating. and the oft imitated, never replicated prins thomas shows up on the flip for a (naturally) eleven- minute revamp of >the day<, livening up the bass and drum patterns, adding in strings, piano, guitar, organ, and ending up with something that totally could have emanated from a camaro at some point in the early seventies. (albeit, one owned by someone with interest in eleven-minute instrumentals.) it even has a fade out!

onwards and upwards for the section8 clan as they get ready to deliver possibly their biggest release to date with a mighty, thunderous dubstep assault from one of bristols brightest up & coming production duos, dodge & fuski. having built up quite a reputation already with some killer releases on labels such as never say die and rat, this one looks set to earn them even more attention, get ready for the sound system bangers! ethereal pads open up aerophobia before an epic, grandiose synth enters the mix to set the scene for whats to come and youd better be ready because its quite simply, sick! watch the dance go crazy as we kick into an absolutley heinous bass riff that grabs by the throat and doesnt let go with a smashing break holding it all together. it only goes on to get even better with a totally funked up 4/4 switch up too! more bassline manipulation ensues and the dubstep break returns to complete whats sure to be a massive club anthem. a lot of fun. onto the flip and the tranced-out intro vibe continues with another awe-inpsiring arrangement of twinkling synths and fx on fuckem all. though the ravers are gonna love it and thats really what this is all about. bangin!

to remain a discerning platform for underground artists with integrity is easier said than done in todays music market. alphahouse vows never to forget its roots in the afterhours basements from whence it came. in that spirit, we would like to welcome two up-and-coming italians to the family with release number twenty. good friends alessandro stefanio aka buck, and andrea santoro aka santorini, both from puglia, proudly represent the new school of deep thinking producers from a country not generally known for such restraint. if you have been following santorini or bucks output of late, you will know that italy is more than just the land of shuffled techno.. there is a deeper music movement in the country, and these guys are two of the best.

this time mr raoul k not only wants you to dance - he wants you to go crazy on the dancefloor. in his well known way he crafts a relentless groover that sends everyone on the floor into the higher state of concsciousness called trance. he layers track upon track and builds a solid grooving base…. for the balafon. a handmade percussion instrument not unlike a marimba that gives guinean music its characteristic flavor. the vocal loop on top draws you deep into the vortex of nested percussion, african melodies und thick baselines. thistrack will never let you go - like moebius band. its main theme will stay in your head for a very long time. it will shake your hips after you left the dancefloor. and it will escort you on your way home after youve left the club. maybe it even serves as a lullaby after a long night out. already tested by Âme with stunning results.

lory ds idiosyncratic take on techno is an all-analogue assault on the senses, a soundtrack to the end of the world punctured by shards of acid and twisted metal soundscapes. a john carpenter for the rave generation, so to speak. the enigmatic lory is something of a legend in his native city of rome, where the former dmc champion was responsible for introducing his compatriots the sounds of techno, acid and hardcore with 5.000 strong raves featuring ritchie hawtin, underground resistance, joey beltram and lfo. his label sounds never seen was the soundtrack to these raves – an industrial yet sometimes beautiful vision of techno where drexciya, frankie bones and spk jammed in the roman sewers.
